Flamini reveals culture shock

Friday, November 28, 2008

AC Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini admits he has struggled to settle in Serie A and stresses 'things are totally different to England.'

The Frenchman moved to the San Siro from Arsenal on a free transfer during the summer, but he hasn't been at his best in Italy.

"It is hard to make a good impact as soon as you arrive at a new club in a new country," Flamini told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I'm in good shape, but I still need to get more confidence and become more consistent if I am to be at 100 percent.

"My objective is to hold a first-team place, but first I have to get to know my teammates better and the way Milan play, which is completely different to Arsenal.

"Do I like Serie A or the Premier League better? They are both great Leagues but Italian football is more about tactics, whereas English teams attack from start to finish and there is more space."
