Ledley King 68

Jamie O’Hara 90

Former West Ham player and manager Harry Redknapp claimed his fourth victory in a row at Upton Park as Tottenham secured a 2-0 victory over the Hammers.

The Spurs boss, who played 149 times for West Ham from 1964, left Upton Park in 2001, moving on to two spells at Portsmouth, separated by a stint at Southampton, before taking charge at White Hart Lane in October.

And the victory on Monday followed the three in a row he had at Upton Park when he was manager of Portsmouth.

The visitors had the best chance in the opening 45 minutes as Roman Pavlyuchenko stretched to meet a low cross from Aaron Lennon at the far post but he could only turn the ball onto the base of the post.

Spurs finally made the breakthrough in the 68th minute when Ledley King rose above a crowded penalty area to head home Lennon's cross from the right for his first goal in three years.

The Spurs captain had not scored since a 3-1 win over Portsmouth on Dec 2005.

And it took a brilliant double-save from under-fire Brazilian goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes to prevent the Hammers equalising as the clock ticked on to 90 minutes.

First he blocked Lucas Neill's close range shot before denying David Di Michele from point blank range.

From the clearance, however, Spurs made it 2-0 when substitute Jamie O’Hara broke forward and fired a 25-yard shot which flew past Robert Green and into the goal to seal all three points for Tottenham at Upton Park.
