William Gallas seeks Arsenal exit

Friday, December 5, 2008

William Gallas has told his family and friends that he wants to leave Arsenal in January after being 'humiliated' over his recent captaincy ordeal.

The 31-year-old was stripped of the captaincy and temporarily exiled after publicly criticising his team-mates.

With Cesc Fàbregas now wearing the armband, Arsenal have begun to move forward - with Gallas reinstated at the heart of their defence.

But the defender is still reeling from the fallout of his controversial comments and has told his friends that he would welcome a move to AC Milan for a more friendly environment.

One of Gallas' close family member told The Sun: "William is not a happy man at the moment.

"He did not apologise to his team-mates over his comments, nor did Arsène Wenger make him do so.

"But he still feels completely humiliated to have been stripped of the captaincy and is strongly thinking about a move in January.

"The summer would be too far away.

"He says he is lonely in the dressing room and at training, and he doesn’t really have many friends.

"William doesn’t want to return to France but AC Milan have publicly shown their interest in him and that would be an attractive option."
