Jonathan Woodgate headed a late winner as Tottenham boosted their Premier League survival bid with a crucial 2-1 victory at Hull.

Spurs opened the scoring in the 17th minute as Luka Modrić played a short one-two from the corner with Robbie Keane before the Croatian found Aaron Lennon on the edge of the box and he fired his shot past Matt Duke.

The home side claimed a scrappy equaliser 10 minutes leter when Michael Turner bundled home from close range after Spurs keeper Carlo Cudicini flapped at Andy Dawson's corner.

Spurs almost regained the lead when Vedran Ćorluka headed Modrić's free-kick against the crossbar.

Cudicini flapped at another high ball after the break and was lucky to escape when Kamil Zayatte’s header bounced back off the post.

Then Woodgate sealed the victory for Spurs as he powered home a Benoît Assou-Ekotto cross past Duke with just four minutes remaining.
