Aston Villa fought back from 2-0 and 3-1 down to salvage a 3-3 draw against Everton in an enthralling match at Villa Park.
The visitors opened the scoring after 19 minutes as Marouane Fellaini turned home Leighton Baines' low cross from close range.
Everton doubled the lead four minutes later when Tim Cahill reacted the quickest to nod home the loose ball after his initial header from Steven Pienaar's corner came off the crossbar.
John Carew pulled one back for Villa in the 33rd minute when he smashed his shot from close range after confusion in the Everton defence.
Hopes of a Villa revival suffered a setback on 54 minutes when Phil Neville fed Pienaar on the edge of the box and the South African midfielder turned past Luke Young before curling a 20-yard drive past Brad Friedel into the corner of the net.
But Villa were immediately back in the match when James Milner executed a 25-yard free-kick over the wall and inside Tim Howard's post.
And the home side rescued a point on 66 minutes when Gareth Barry rammed home a penalty after Joleon Lescott's boot inadvertently caught Stilian Petrov's face while acrobatically trying to clear the ball.
Villa substitute Nathan Delfouneso was denied by Howard in injury-time, but defeat would have been cruel on either side.
