Edin Džeko won't leave Wolfsburg this summer

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

VfL Wolfsburg striker Edin Džeko has confirmed that he will stay at the club despite interest from AC Milan.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international is the Rossoneri's No 1 transfer target this summer.

He has spoken of his desire to move to Italy, but Wolfsburg are unwilling to sell him.

Džeko had previously stated that he was being forced to stay at Wolfsburg against his will, but the 23-year-old has now revealed that he is happy to stay put.

"I find myself well in Wolfsburg," he told the club's official website, www.vflwolfsburg.de. "I want to dedicate myself to the championship and I am happy about being able to play in the Champions League.

"In the coming years I will play for Wolfsburg at 100 percent."

This means that Milan will have to start looking elsewhere now, with Sevilla striker Luís Fabiano and Arsenal hitman Emmanuel Adebayor now thought to be their main transfer target.
