Kaká: Why I left AC Milan

Thursday, July 30, 2009

In his first interview with Spanish media since his return from holidays, Kaká has reflected on his AC Milan exit, insisting it was the club who wanted to sell him.

The Brazilian joined the new Real Madrid era in a mega-deal that saw the Italians earn around £62 million from the sale.

"I always gave Milan the responsibility to decide on my exit when other clubs made an offer," Kaká told Spanish daily newspaper AS.

"I liked Milan and I was always happy there, but then the moment arrived when our objectives were no longer the same and they sold me.

"In six years many offers arrived, including others from Real Madrid, but the club only decided to sell me this season."
