Parma sign veteran Christian Panucci

Friday, July 31, 2009

Newly-promoted Serie A club Parma have signed veteran Italy defender Christian Panucci from AS Roma.

The 36-year-old joined the Gialloblu on a one-year deal after his contract with Roma expired in June.

Speaking at his official unveiling, Panucci said: "My relationship with Roma is over. I have no regrets. I gave everything there and now I just want to focus on Parma.

"I am happy to be here and this is a big challenge for me, a very important battle.

"At 36, I want to show that I can still prove myself at the highest levels.

"I have been training really hard and I am looking forward to this adventure with Parma."
