Inter didn't want to humiliate Milan - Massimo Moratti

Sunday, August 30, 2009

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has scoffed at fierce rivals AC Milan, claiming the Nerazzurri "did not try to humiliate" their counterpart.

Inter thrashed the Rossoneri 4-0 at the San Siro on Saturday.

"I always watch Milan-Inter from home," explained Moratti to La Gazzetta dello Sport. "It is my superstition for the derby.

"It was such a great game! It was a battle in the first 20 minutes, then we dominated thanks to a fantastic style of football.

"I must praise my lads for another reason too, as they did not try to humiliate the opponents in the second half.

"All jokes aside, I saw a real squad and what a marvellous Diego Milito, talented but above all efficient. Samuel Eto’o is another phenomenon."

He added: "We are a compact squad, and it seems to me that the Rossoneri aren't a team, that they have lost the advantage of cohesion that had made them strong.

"Now I will enjoy the next fortnight, as they should."
