Serie A: Palermo 3-3 AS Roma

Friday, September 25, 2009

Palermo and AS Roma shared six goals in a spectacular encounter under torrential rain at Stadio Renzo Barbera.

Matteo Brighi opened the scoring for the visitors after 20 minutes, only for the Sicilians to level through Igor Budan shortly after.

Nicolás Burdisso's diving header restored Roma's lead in the 44th minute, but moments later Fabrizio Miccoli took advantage of a defensive error to squeeze through and make it 2-2.

Antonio Nocerino put the hosts in front for the first time after 54 minutes but a late penalty from Francesco Totti ensured the spoils were shared.
