Arsenal captain Cesc Fàbregas has had to leave the Spain squad in Armenia and fly to Barcelona because his grandfather is seriously ill.
The midfielder flew into the Catalan capital on Saturday night with Barça pair Xavi and Carles Puyol - both players will miss Wednesday's final World Cup qualifier in Bosnia due to injury and suspension.
Arsenal are set to face Birmingham City in the Premier League on Saturday, but may be forced to tackle the Blues without the services of their skipper.
