Serie A: Juventus 5-1 Sampdoria

Friday, October 30, 2009

Juventus moved up to second in Serie A after thrashing Sampdoria 5-1 at the Stadio Olimpico.

The home side opened the scoring on 26 minutes when Amauri scored from close range after his initial header from Diego's cross had been blocked.

Giorgio Chiellini increased the lead before half-time from close range and Mauro Camoranesi put Juve further in front five minutes after the break.

Amauri headed home his second of the night on 62 minutes before Samp pulled a goal back two minutes later through Giampaolo Pazzini's header.

But the match was already beyond them and Juve had time for one more goal when David Trezeguet nodded home Fabio Grosso's cross.
