Premier League: Arsenal 4-2 Bolton

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Arsenal stormed to the summit of the Premier League after coming from two goals down to beat Bolton Wanderers 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium.

Bolton were two goals adrift after 27 minutes to a Gary Cahill strike and Matt Taylor penalty after Denilson fouled Lee Chung-Yong in the box.

But Tomáš Rosický grabbed them a lifeline two minutes before the interval before the Gunners equalised via Cesc Fàbregas seven minutes after the re-start, although William Gallas caught Mark Davies in the build-up to the goal, with the Bolton player needing to be stretchered off with an ankle injury.

Thomas Vermaelen then put Arsenal ahead on 65 minutes before Andrei Arshavin scored the goal that put the Gunners into first place on goal difference five minutes from time.
