Bolton snap up Jack Wilshere on loan deal

Sunday, January 31, 2010

Bolton Wanderers have confirmed that highly-rated Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has joined the club on loan until the end of the season.

Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger is happy to loan out Wilshere, who has made 15 first team appearances for the Gunners and has been capped at U-21 level by England, so that he can continue his development with first-team opportunities limited at the Emirates.

"Jack is a talented, young, hungry player who I think has got a bright future ahead of him," Bolton boss Owen Coyle told the club's official website.

"He has got an abundance of quality and he will enhance our squad.

"The deals suit all parties concerned if the boys go and deliver on the pitch."

The 18-year-old became Arsenal's youngest ever league player at 16 years and 256 days when he made his debut as a substitute at Blackburn Rovers in September 2008.

Wilshere made further history for the Gunners when he came off the bench against Dynamo Kyiv in November 2008, to become, at 16 years and 329 days, the youngest player ever to represent Arsenal in European competitions.

The Stevenage-born teenager signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal in July.
