Atlético Madrid announced on Friday that they have finally completed the signing of Argentina striker Eduardo Salvio from Lanús.
Negotiations between Atlético and Lanús had been going on for weeks, but the clubs reached an agreement earlier this week.
The 19-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Spanish side and has already been unveiled in front of fans at the Vicente Calderón.
"Above all I want to thank Atlético Madrid for giving me this opportunity," Salvio told the club's official website.
"I'm starting a new stage in my sporting career and I am very happy to be here.
"To start I hope to have a good season in these months that are left in the competition.
"I'm confident that I can give a lot of joy to the Atlético people."
Salvio becomes Atlético's second signing of the winter transfer window after Tiago, who arrived from Italian giants Juventus.
