Goals from Nicolas Anelka and Daniel Sturridge were enough to send Chelsea through into the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 2-0 win over Preston North End at Deepdale.
Anelka broke the deadlock on 36 minutes when he brushed past Youl Mawéné and fired in a shot that had too much power for Preston keeper Andy Lonergan
Chelsea doubled their advantage two minutes into the second half as John Terry powered in a header that came back out but only as far as Sturridge, who whacked the rebound home.
