AS Roma closed the gap on Serie A leaders Inter Milan after an emphatic 4-1 victory over Palermo at the Stadio Olimpico.
After a slow opening 30 minutes Roma grabbed the lead in the 33rd minute when Cesare Bovo unfortunately diverting Matteo Brighi's shot past his own goalkeeper when the midfielder's shot was heading wide of the post.
Brazilian striker Júlio Baptista added the second in the 53rd minute before Brighi scored his second of the game 10 minutes later.
Fabrizio Miccoli reduced the arrears from the penalty spot, but a stunning strike from John-Arne Riise three minutes later secured the win for the Giallorossi.
