Sevilla's hopes of finishing in the top four were dealt a blow after slipping to a 2-0 defeat to Espanyol at Estadi Cornellà -El Prat.
The hosts opened the scoring after eight minutes when Pablo Osvaldo powered a header home from six yards.
Osvaldo then made it 2-0 on the hour mark as the Argentine striker slotted through Andrés Palop's legs for his fourth goal in 10 games.
