Serie A: Livorno 3-3 AS Roma

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Cristiano Lucarelli grabbed a hat-trick for relegation-threatened Livorno to salvage a 3-3 draw with AS Roma at the Stadio Armando Picchi.

The hosts took the lead after nine minutes through Lucarelli, only for Simone Perrotta to equalise less than a minute later.

Luca Toni then put Roma 2-1 up in the 19th minute but Lucarelli netted again after 26 minutes to restore parity.

Roma responded quickly once more with David Pizarro restoring the lead approaching the half-hour mark and the visitors should have doubled their advantage before the break but Pizarro's spot-kick came back off the post.

Lucarelli was more accurate from 12 yards with 20 minutes to go and Livorno held on despite a late Roma onslaught.
