Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjčar scored for Tottenham Hotspur in a 2-0 victory against former club Portsmouth, which is bottom and doomed to relegation.
Crouch opened the scoring in the 27th minute as the beanpole striker got ahead of the defenders to nod a Gareth Bale cross past David James.
Spurs doubled their lead five minutes before the break when Luka Modrić's shot was blocked, and the ball fell kindly to Kranjčar, who flicked it on into the bottom right corner.
