Burnley were relegated after just one year in the Premier League following a 4-0 defeat to Liverpool at Turf Moor.
Liverpool went ahead in the 51st minute when skipper Steven Gerrard unleashed a 20-yard shot which deflected off Leon Cort and inside Brian Jensen's right post.
Gerrard doubled the lead seven minutes later when he ran on to Alberto Aquilani's pass and curled a delightful 25-yarder past Jensen.
The points were secured when Maxi RodrÃguez slotted home with just over a quarter-of-an-hour left to play and Ryan Babel put the icing on the cake for the away side when running through to score the fourth in injury-time.
