Serie A: AC Milan 4-0 Lecce

Monday, August 30, 2010

AC Milan opened their Serie A account with an impressive 4-0 win over newly-promoted Lecce at the San Siro.

Milan went ahead in the 16th minute when Alexandre Pato latched onto Massimo Ambrosini's pass before scoring with a precise low, angled shot.

Thiago Silva made it 2-0 in the 25th minute after a goalmouth scramble and Pato scored his second goal five minutes later, taking a through pass from Ronaldinho that left him with only the goalkeeper to beat.

Veteran striker Filippo Inzaghi completed the rout just before the final whistle to send Milan - albeit after just one game - to the top of the table.
