Alexandre Pato scored twice against the run of play in partnership with Zlatan Ibrahimović to give Milan a two-goal lead at the break.
An own goal from Ibrahimović in the 71st minute gave Chievo hope, but Robinho ended their dreams in stoppage time with his first goal for Milan.
