Alessandro Matri struck in each half to help Juventus beat his old club Cagliari 3-1 at the Stadio Sant'Elia.
Matri, who left the Sardinian club for Juve on the final day of the transfer window, put Juve ahead after 20 minutes but Robert Acquafresca drew the home side level six minutes after the break.
Matri restored Juve's lead with 15 minutes remaining before Luca Toni sealed the win six minutes from time with his 100th Serie A goal.
