Barcelona failed to win away in the La Liga for the first time this season as they were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly Sporting Gijón.
Relegation-threatened Sporting took the lead in the 16th minute when David Barral drilled a precise, angled shot low past Víctor Valdés after some nice work down the left flank.
But David Villa levelled the score in the 80th minute as he latched on to Lionel Messi's through-ball and chipped exquisitely over Iván Cuéllar.
