Serie A: Inter Milan 5-2 Genoa

Monday, March 7, 2011

Inter Milan keep up pressure on Serie A leaders and cross-city rivals AC Milan with a 5-2 thrashing of Genoa at the San Siro.

Genoa took the lead through Rodrigo Palacio five minutes before half-time, but the strike sparked a fierce response by Inter after halftime.

Giampaolo Pazzini drew Inter level early in the second half before Samuel Eto'o struck twice to put Inter in complete control by the 57th minute.

Goran Pandev made it 4-1 in the 70th minute before Yuto Nagatomo scored his first goal since joining Inter in January.

Mauro Boselli grabbed Genoa's second with his first goal in Italian football but it was a mere consolation.
