Italy moved six points clear of second-place Slovenia at the top of the Euro 2012 qualifying Group C table with a narrow 1-0 win over Slovenia in Ljubljana.
Brazilian-born midfielder Thiago Motta scored the only goal of the match in the 73rd minute with a powerful drive from the edge of the area after playing a one-two with Federico Balzaretti.
