Finnish teenager scores amazing backflip penalty

Saturday, April 9, 2011

Finnish teenager Joonas Jokinen has sent the Internet flipping mad after somehow scoring a penalty while performing a backflip at the same time.

Jokinen was playing for Swiss side FC Baar against local rivals FC Sempach when he took it upon himself to produce a breathtaking piece of showboating.

With the score still locked at 0-0, the forward blasted a penalty and in the same movement flipping into a midair sommersault before the ball had even hit the back of the net.

Lucky for him, the keeper didn't save it.

Jokinen is not the first youngster to pioneer a new penalty taking technique.

Spanish U-19 player Ezequiel Calvente pulled off one of the most inventive penalties ever in a European Championship match against Italy last year.
