Salomon Kalou came off the bench to net a late winner as Chelsea fought back from a goal down to beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Spurs took the lead in the 19th minute with a bolt from the blue as Sandro rifled home a shot from range for his first goal for the club.

The first half ended in controversy after a 35-yard shot from Frank Lampard squirmed through the legs of Spurs keeper Gomes and, although he got back to grasp the ball on the line, the assistant referee adjudged the ball to have crossed the line.

The London derby looked on course to end in stalemate until substitute Kalou popped up with the winner from close range to move within three points of leaders Manchester United.
