Carlos Tévez too expensive for Inter Milan

Inter Milan have categorically ruled out a move for Manchester City striker Carlos Tévez due to his massive salary requirements and the "crazy" transfer market.

Tévez rocked Eastlands by handing in a transfer request last December - which he later withdrew - and was widely expected to leave this summer.

Inter have been consistently linked with a move for the 27-year-old over the last few months, but Nerazzurri sporting director Marco Branca insists that Tévez's salary means they would not be able to sign him.

The Argentina international has a weekly salary in excess of £230,000, making him one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League.

"Tévez is a great player, a great character, but absolutely no. His salary means it is out of the question," Branca told BBC Sport.

"The market is crazy at the moment and it is hard to compete.

"We have to organise our finances for the financial fair play rules in the next two years.

"We don't have the same revenues from merchandise and match day as the English sides.

"We are looking for younger players now with great talent, who we can develop."
