Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk had to come from behind to secure a 1-1 draw from their home meeting with minnows APOEL Nicosia.
Shakhtar peppered the APOEL goal for the first hour of match without success and were stunned when Ivan Tričkovski scored with the Cypriot side's first real attack of the game after 61 minutes.
But the hosts hit back almost immediately when Jádson volleyed the ball home from 12 yards after good work down the right by Willian.
