Goals from Thiago Motta and Phillipe Coutinho helped struggling Inter Milan to a 2-1 victory over Cagliari at the San Siro.
Motta put the Nerazzurri ahead in the 54th minute and it looked easy for Inter when Coutinho doubled the advantage with a low shot from the edge of the area six minutes later.
JoaquÃn Larrivey pulled one back for the visitors in the 88th minute, but it was not enough to prevent Davide Ballardini from losing on his debut on the Cagliari bench.
