Barcelona provisionally to within a point of La Liga leaders Real Madrid after a 4-0 thrashing of Getafe at the Camp Nou.

The hosts opened the scoring after 13 minutes through Alexis Sánchez and Lionel Messi's 39th goal in La Liga this term - his 61st in all competitions - had the hosts two up at the interval.

Barça then produced two sublime headers in the final quarter - from Sánchez and Pedro - to put the result beyond doubt.
