Didier Drogba fired a crucial winner to hand Chelsea a 1-0 home win over reigning champions Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie.
In one of Chelsea's few forays forward at Stamford Bridge, the Ivory Coast striker struck on the stroke of half-time after Frank Lampard released Ramires down the wing, with the Brazilian feeding Drogba with a pinpoint cross and allowing him to slot beyond Víctor Valdés.
Chelsea then shut Barça down effectively in a second half where chances were scarce, until Pedro hit the post and Sergio Busquets blasted the rebound feebly over at the death.
