The Uruguayan put Liverpool two goals to the good at the break against a shot-shy Canaries side, but his third goal in the second-half was the pick of the bunch.

Norwich captain Elliott Ward was in possession on the halfway line when Suárez pounced to steal the ball.

The Liverpool striker took a few strides, looked up and when Suárez spotted Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy off his line, he impertinently unleashed a perfectly flighted chip from 45 yards.

Ruddy tried to retreat but he was clutching at air as Suárez's lob sailed over his head into the back of the net.

"Luis will get most of the headlines and deservedly so," said Reds boss Kenny Dalglish.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard added: "He is one of the best in the world and today was his day. It was great finishing."
