German club score after confusing opponents with ingenious free-kick routine

German fourth-tier side Rot-Weiss Essen produced a free-kick masterclass in their 2-2 draw against Wattenscheid 09 on Tuesday.
Wattenscheid let a two-goal lead slip at the Stadion Essen, and the final goal of the game, a free-kick from Benedikt Koep, was something truly special.
With a free-kick awarded just outside the area, six Essen players gathered around the dead ball, seemingly debating who will take the set piece.
The set-play then seemed to go awry when two players went for the ball at the same time.
In the midst of the confusion, though, Koep took full advantage by curling a beautiful left-footed shot into the top left-hand corner.
