AC Milan have confirmed that Barcelona forward Ronaldinho will sign for them as they have agreed a fee with the Catalans and terms with the player.

The Rossoneri released a statement on their website: "AC Milan and Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle over the transfer of Ronaldinho. The player will be in Milan (on Wednesday) to undergo a medical and sign a contract that will keep him at Milan until June 30 2011."

Barcelona on their own website announced the financial details of the transfer, valued at €21 million plus another €4 million if Milan clinches a place in next season’s Champions League.

General secretary Txiki Begiristain added that the deal was made possible because the player agreed to give up 15 percent of his cut in the transfer.

Transfer talks between the two clubs reportedly stalled earlier this week, as Milan only willing to pay €15 million plus up to five million in additions - €10 million less than Barça's demand.

The Italian club are understood to have increased their bid by €5 million, with Manchester City reportedly submitted a record-club bid of €32 million.

Ronaldinho, two-time FIFA World Player of the Year, has been allowed to leave Barcelona since new coach Pep Guardiola said that the star was not wanted at the Nou Camp.

At San Siro, he will join fellow Brazilians Kaká and Alexandre Pato. Coach Carlo Ancelotti has said he wants to play Ronaldinho alongside Kaká in a 4-3-2-1 formation behind a striker.

Ronaldinho will join Mathieu Flamini, Gianluca Zambrotta, Marco Borriello, Christian Abbiati and Luca Antonini as new faces at Milan this season.

Why lesser exchange than that offered by the Manchester team? Just curious. What is really the deal behind Ronaldhino why he went to MIlan. Anyway, no more chance by now to see much games in Italy. Maybe i better start knowing and recognizing the Netherlands teams and players coz am living here now.
