N'Zogbia confirms plans to quit Toon

Wednesday, December 24, 2008

Newcastle midfielder Charles N'Zogbia has confirmed his intention to leave St James' Park in a bid to fulfill his career ambitions.

The 22-year-old has spent four years on Tyneside but has struggled to cement his place in the first team under a clutch of different managers.

The Frenchman admits that he has grown frustrated with life in the north east and he is hopeful of sealing an exit in the near future.

He told L'Equipe: "After four years at Newcastle, I want to reach a higher level of ambition. I don't think that is possible here.

"I have given my all to the club, and I will go on to do so as long as I play. But I would like to reach a new level by finding a new challenge at a new side."

The likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa and Paris St Germain have been mooted as interested parties who line up to secure the winger's signature.
