Santa Cruz prefers Premier League future

Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz insists he would only leave Ewood Park for one of the Premier League clubs.

The 27-year-old striker has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City in next month's transfer window, although Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest.

However, should he quit Blackburn, he would remain in England.

He told Radio Primero de Mayo: "I would like to stay in England. I like this league. It is one of the most competitive in the world."

Of speculation surrounding his future, he explained: "I have nothing to do with the offers. They are made to the club and the directors deal with them and make a decision."
