Carling Cup: Arsenal 2-0 West Brom

Carlos Vela inspired Arsenal to a 2-0 victory over battling 10-man West Brom in the last 32 of the Carling Cup at the Emirates.
Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger sent on Vela midway through the second half and it was his shot that led to the first goal. West Brom keeper Dean Kiely blocked it but Sanchez Watt followed up to score.
And, nine minutes later, Mexican starlet Vela sealed the win as he Vela took advantage of a tangle between Kiely and defender Leon Barnett to walk the ball into an empty net.
