Toffees land John Heitinga for £6m

Dutch defender John Heitinga completed his £6 million transfer from Atlético Madrid to Everton 45 minutes before the deadline.
The 25-year-old jetted into Liverpool on Tuesday morning to undergo his medical and sign a five-year deal with the Toffees.
He then jetted back to the Netherlands in the evening to join up with his international colleagues ahead of their next World Cup qualifier.
"I am proud to sign at the People's Club," Heitinga told evertonTV.
"It's a nice club and a club with a big history.
"I saw a lot of Everton games last season and they have a strong team.
"I spoke with the manager earlier and the feelings were good. The training ground is really good and it's a typical English stadium and I love it."
The former Ajax Amsterdam star is viewed as a replacement for Joleon Lescott, who joined Manchester City earlier in August.
Unfortunately, he will not be able to play for Everton in the Europa League, having already played for Atlético in the Champions League play-off round earlier this season.
