Captain Antonio López was the hero as Atlético Madrid fought back from a half-time deficit to beat 10-man Sevilla 2-1 at home.
Sevilla took the lead on the stroke of half-time through Renato's header, but it all went horribly wrong for the visitors after the interval.
A freak own goal from Ivica Dragutinović drew Atlético level three minutes into the second and they were reduced to 10 men when Aldo Duscher was sent off for a second bookable offence on 72 minutes.
Atlético captain López then compounded Sevilla's misery by heading home a Simão free-kick with virtually the last touch of the game.
