Blackburn Rovers lifted themselves eight points above the relegation zone after 1-0 victory over 10-man Hull City at Ewood Park.
The hosts scored the only goal of the game on 18 minutes as Martin Olsson's shot from the by-line was helped into the net by goalkeeper Boaz Myhill.
Hull's task was then made much more difficult just before half-time as George Boateng was dismissed for his aerial challenge on Morten Gamst Pedersen.
