Sevilla moved back into fourth place with just eight rounds left in the season after seeing off lowly Tenerife 3-0 at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
Frédéric Kanouté put them on their way to a much-needed success after 22 minutes and LuÃs Fabiano doubled their lead shortly before half-time.
The hosts wrapped up their biggest league win since September when substitute José Carlos curled an inch-perfect free-kick in the 88th minute.
