Carlos Tévez wants Fernando Torres at Manchester City

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Carlos Tévez has urged Liverpool striker Fernando Torres to join him at Manchester City, claiming his own move to Eastlands as the best decision of his life.

Torres has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield after Liverpool finished in a disappointing seventh place in the Premier League last season.

City manager Roberto Mancini admitted at the weekend that the Spaniard striker is high on his wish-list.

And Tévez reckons they could become become one of the most threatening partnerships in the top flight.

The Argentine hitman told The Sun: "Torres would definitely make us better. He's one of the top strikers in the world and I would love to have him as a team-mate.

"Last year we ended up contesting the Champions League places. I have no doubt that this year we will achieve that aim and fight for the title.

"The club will pick up reinforcements and this will make us stronger.

"I know I've never regretted coming to City. It's the best decision I ever made."
