Pedro and David Villa struck a brace apiece as Barcelona hammered Espanyol 5-1 in the Catalan capital derby at the Cornellà-El Prat.
Pedro broke the deadlock after 19 minutes and Xavi added the second at the half-hour mark to give Pep Guardiola's side a healthy lead at half-time.
Tenerife-born winger Pedro struck again on 61 minutes before Pablo Osvaldo grabbed one back for Espanyol two minutes later to end Barcelona's four-game run of not allowing a goal.
But Barça always looked in control and Villa netted twice in the closing 15 minutes to secure another emphatic win for the reigning champions.
