Daniele Paponi came off the bench to fire home an injury-time winner for Bologna in a 1-0 triumph against 10-man Palermo at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.
Palermo's hopes of getting something out of the game were dented when Santiago GarcÃa was sent off for a second bookable offence just before the hour.
But Bologna had to wait until the last minute to finally decide the game with substitute Paponi rising above Antonio Nocerino to head in a last-minute goal the home side deserved.
