Porto have been crowned Portuguese league champions for the 25th time after beating rivals Benfica 2-1 on Sunday evening.

The win was especially delicious for Porto and their fans because they were able to wrap up the title inside Benfica's stadium, the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon.

As the final whistle went, Porto's players poured onto the pitch erupted with joy, scampering across the field jumping and fist pumping.

But Benfica did its best to throw cold water on the party — literally. As the home fans filed out, the stadium lights were turned off and the sprinklers on the field came on.

It did little to spoil the visitors' mood, though, as they continued to celebrate in the dark.

Porto's players showered under the jets of water in the manner of Real Madrid in the Cibeles fountain.

"Winning in the home of our closest rival is always something to enjoy a bit more," Porto striker Hulk said.
