It was somewhat an easy task for the Catalans at the Camp Nou, as they demolished Osasuna 8-0 in which they, incredibly, enjoyed 82 percent of possession.

Messi had opened the scoring for Barcelona after just five minutes and his growing understanding with Fàbregas helped set up the second in the 13th minute.

The Argentina ace lofted a pass over the Osasuna defensive line to a streaking Fàbregas who expertly volleyed it into the right corner of the net.

Barcelona made sure not to relax as it had let the same 2-0 lead slip to Real Sociedad last week, and soon put the result beyond doubt.

David Villa, twice, Xavi and an own-goal from Rovérsio joined them on the scoresheet as Barça climbed to second in the La Liga table.
