Serie A: Napoli 6-3 Cagliari

Saturday, March 10, 2012

Six different goalscorers - including an own goal - contributed to Napoli's 6-3 thrashing of Cagliari at the Stadio San Paolo.

The game was practically all over within half-an-hour as Napoli opened up a three-goal lead through Marek Hamšík, Paolo Cannavaro and Davide Astori's own goal.

Joaquín Larrivey scored Cagliari's first goal in the 37th minute, but any chance of a comeback was snuffed by Ezequiel Lavezzi's penalty 11 minutes into the second half.

Walter Gargano netted Napoli's fifth in the 70th minute before Larrivey pulled one back with a header in off the base of the post seven minutes later.

Substitute Christian Maggio added a sixth for Napoli in the 84th minute, but Larrivey had the last word with another header to complete his hat-trick with the last touch of the game.
